- DV022 Black is a hand-made loafer in calfskin
- Its upper is made from a single piece of leather, which is stitched at the back. This clean construction method creates the sleekest shape for a loafer
- Our mahogany comes from a sustainable plantation. Each component is entirely hand-carved by some of the world’s best wood artisans from Java. The base curvature of each piece follows the natural angles of the foot and their various sizes are made in proportion to the size of the shoe
- The lacquering process is entirely done by hand and is incredibly time consuming. The application is done by coating the wood in dust thin layers of material. The lacquer is sprayed layer upon layer and left to dry. Then the surface is sanded with superfine sand paper and lacquered again. The process is repeated until obtaining a solid high gloss. The components are then buffered for a piano-like finish
- The toes are hand-finished with a special waxing and polishing technique, which creates a beautiful texture contrast in the front part of the shoes
- DV022 is entirely lined in super soft calfskin leather
- Vanassibaras will never smell unpleasant. Our shoes are mounted on a breathable raw leather insole which naturally absorbs excessive sweat from the feet. That’s an old technique that only true luxury brands can afford
- The sole is actually hand-made too, same case of the heel. The latter is made from layers of cut, trimmed and sanded leather sheets, which are mounted onto a leather base to form the finished sole
- Calf is a relatively strong leather but like all leather products, they might become marked with wear and occasionally require maintenance
- We would advise against the use of any cleaning products containing solvents, which might affect the surface finishing on the leather
- Gently wipe the product with a soft damp cloth and allow to air dry away from direct heat
- Avoid contact with liquids containing alcohol or solvents, as this will cause irreversible damage to the surface of the leather
- Should be stored away from humidity and sources of heat
